JV Back on Track & Varsity Rolls


The Raiders completed the 2019 portion of the home schedule on Saturday Night in front of a great crowd at The Raider Dome. The JV Raiders trailed 17-16 at the end of the first quarter. The Raiders then outscored Leake 51-38 in the final three quarters to close out an impressive 67-55 victory and put an end to their short two-game losing streak. The Raiders are now 7-2 on the season and will return to action on Tuesday in Natchez and on Thursday in Greenwood with both games beginning at 5:15pm

The Varsity Raiders rode the shoulders of senior Will Travelstead as he finished with a career-high 28 points and he tied a school record for three pointers made in a game at 8. At multiple points throughout the first half Will was outscoring Leake by himself and at the half the two were tied at 17-17. JA also had a big game from Owen Bates as he finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Raiders pushed their record up to 8-4 and pushed their wins to 5 in a row.
