JV & Varsity Keep Winning

Season Sweep of Lady Colonels


The Lady Raiders hosted Copiah Academy in their second meeting of the season and the games went according to script for both JV and Varsity at The Raider Dome. The JV Lady Raiders had been depending a lot on Emily Buchanan for her offensive help, but the offensive side of the game was controlled by Addison Comer in this one as she scored a game high 17 points to help lead the Lady Raiders to a sweep of the regular season series against Copiah Academy, improving their overall mark to 15-3 and 6-1 in conference play. Addi Roberts and Buchanan each chipped in 6 points. With one win their last three games they will clinch one of the top two seeds in the JV Tournament which will be played at The Raider Dome.

In Varsity action, the Lady Raiders struggled defensively but for a second straight game Natalie Thompson was huge off the bench as she dropped 9 points and added 5 assists while Emma Roberts led the team with 13 points, 4 rebounds ,4 steals and 2 assists. The Lady Raiders improved to 22-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play. JA will travel to Hattiesburg on Friday to take on PCS in conference play. JV will start at 5:00pm with the Varsity Lady Raiders playing at 6:30pm.
