JV Girls Season Ends

Lady Raiders State Runner Up

The JV Lady Raiders were dealt a tough hand on Saturday in the MAIS 5A JH Girls Tournament because of a flooding issue on the campus of JA, which forced the game to be moved to MRA. JA scored first but MRA had the hot hand in the first quarter as they ended it on a 11-1 run. The two teams played even second and third quarters as MRA led by eight going into the final quarter. Ava Ladner and Lila Eubank combined to score the first seven points of the fourth and trimmed the lead to just one point. MRA was able to push the lead back to five with just under three minutes remaining before Addi Roberts trimmed it back to three at the 2:38 mark. MRA held up defensively and kept JA scoreless the rest of the way as the Lady Patriots pulled away for a 43-37 victory and the State Championship.
