Raiders Beat Bobcats 6-0

JA Headed To Title Game

The Raiders began their push to the Championship Game on Wednesday night as they hosted Presbyterian Christian School in Division 1 Semifinal action at The Brickyard. With all the rain the metro Jackson area has received over the last few weeks and months it was another reminder of what a smart investment the school and Athletic Booster Club made back in 2007 to turf The Brickyard surface. The Raiders were looking for a third win against the Bobcats as they won both regular season meetings.

JA got on the board early as Samuel Hadley scored on a corner kick in the 20th minute to put the Raiders up 1-0. Just two minutes later, Reed Travelstead found William Janous racing down the middle of the field as he put the Raiders up 2-0 which wound up being the halftime score. In the second half Rush Baldwin snuck one past the keeper for a 3-0 lead. In the 59th minute Andrew Harrison made it 4-0. Then ten minutes later, Scott Swalley sent a corner kick perfectly on the foot of Marcus Harris and he punched it in for a 5-0 lead. The final tally was put in by Ishmam Bhuiyan to send the Raiders to the State Championship Game on Saturday morning at 11:00am. They will face either Jackson Prep or MRA. The Raiders improved to 16-1 on the season and have now gone 10-1 at The Brickyard.
