Raiders Sweep Tigers

Girls - W, 46-37 -- Boys - W, 68-54

Jackson Academy wrapped up a three game week by hitting the road to start up a road trip as they visited Hernando, the old spot where Coach Brooks once coached. The Lady Raiders were up first and got off to a red hot start as Emily Buchanan scored 12 of the 17 in the quarter and JA led by eight. In the second, JA ran off fifteen straight points to start the quarter and pushed the lead to 21 as Buchanan hit three more three pointers to give her a record-tying six in the game. JA led by 14 at the break. The Lady Raiders managed just five third quarter points as Hernando trimmed the lead to 12 at the start of the fourth. They got as close as six with four minutes to play but JA pushed it back out to nine as the Lady Raiders won 46-37 and moved to 12-1 with their eleventh straight win.

In boys action, the odd quarters were where JA made their moves as they outscored Hernando 18-12 after eight minutes. They played an even second quarter as the Raiders held a six point lead at the break. JA put the game away in the third quarter using an 11-2 run to make it lead of 18. The Tigers cut the final margin to fourteen but JA won 68-54.
