Jordan Goes 4-for-4 with First Homer


The JA Raider Baseball Team was in Mendenhall on Friday for the second game against Simpson Academy on the season after a thrilling 9-8 win last Thursday at Raider Park. After a pitcher?s duel the first three innings, JA took a 2-0 lead in the top of the 4th inning on a Cade Gadman single and a Cougar error. Simpson responded in the bottom of the inning with a five-run frame and that score stood until the 7th inning. The Raiders were down to their final out when Dakota Jordan singled and JT Thigpen drove him in with his second homerun of the season to make it a one run game. Joseph Ciaccio was the hit by a pitch which was followed by pinch hit single by Cade Breland. On that hit the ball was misplayed by the right fielder allowing Ciaccio to score and tie the game. Jordan came in to pitch the seventh and worked a perfect frame allowing the Raiders to force extra innings. Chandler Anderson walked to start the top of the 8th and then Ridley Dehmer sacrificed him over to second base. After being balked to third, Cade Gadman drove him in with a base hit to center. Two batters later Trey Adams drove in Gadman and that was followed by Jordan?s first homer as a Raider to provide a four run lead for JA. Jordan retired the side in order in the bottom of the eighth to secure the victory as they moved to 9-2 on the season.
