Jackson Academy opened up the season on the road in Greenwood, MS and opened it up with a bang as Andrew Holmes connected with Williams Janous for a 66 yard touchdown on the third play of the game. Turnovers wound up being a huge story as the Raiders lost 4 fumbles on the night. The Mustangs were able to capitalize on those Raider miscues as they scored 19 unanswered points and held on for a 26-21 season opening victory.

Pillow QB Shane Houston Stephens had two TD passes (Hagan Wilson and Jack Riechle) and got away with three interceptions. The Mustangs took a 26-14 lead before Ja'Ree Myers got the Raiders back to within a score with a 73 yard KO return 3:24 left, but Pillow held on for a 26-21 victory.

JA will host Leake Academy next Friday night at The Brickyard at 7pm in their home opener.
