Football, Soccer, Softball & Volleyball


The JV Football season got underway at The Brickyard tonight as the Raiders hosted Simpson Academy in 7th Grade and JV action. The 7th grade played a mixture of 7th and 8th grade Cougars from Simpson and finished in a 6-6 tie to begin their 2019 season. The JV Football team rode the legs of Merritt Nations, Joshua Ficklin and Connor Brown as they each ran for a touchdown in the season opening 21-12 victory over Simpson Academy. Dating back to last year that marks their 9th straight win. Next week the Raiders travel to Oak Forest Academy for their second game of the season.

The Lady Raider Softball team lost a pair of close games to the Jackson Victors, but up some good offense in the process. They lost Game One 10-7 and Game Two 10-8. This young team is starting to really put it together and needs your support. Their next action is Tuesday as they travel to Canton Academy at 4:00pm and 5:30pm.

The Varsity Lady Raider Soccer Team was in action tonight in Flowood as they battled Hartfield Academy at the Flowood YMCA Soccer Fields. After struggling to find the back of the net on Tuesday the Lady Raiders tallied three goals in a 3-0 win over the Lady Hawks. It marked their 5th shutout on the season as they moved to 6-3. The next match for JA Soccer is next Thursday, September 5th as host Jackson Prep. JV action is at 5:00pm and the Varsity will follow at 6:30pm at The Brickyard.

The Lady Raider Volleyball Teams traveled to Madison and continued to thrive as all three teams swept their matches over the Lady Patriots of MRA. The Varsity Lady Raiders will travel to Collierville HS for the weekend tournament Volley at The Ville. They play Bartlett HS (4pm) and Brentwood (6pm) on Friday and St. Mary?s School (9am) on Saturday before pool play begins in the afternoon.
