Jackson Academy enjoyed their home opener on Friday night as they hosted Leake Academy for just the fifth time in the history of the series between the two teams. The Raiders and Rebels played four times in the 1980s with JA winning all four previous meetings.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Raiders got on the board with a 32 yard Marcus Harris touchdown run. The Raider defense would force a fumble on the next Rebel drive and grab one of their three fumble recoveries on the night. JA managed to turn it into points thanks to a 30 yard field goal by Land Gebhart. JA held a 10-0 lead at halftime.

On the first offensive play of the second half Parker Ryan raced in from 58 yards out to put JA up 17-0. Two drives later the Raiders forced another Rebel fumble and turned it into another Harris touchdown. In the fourth quarter JA would get a 29 yard field goal from Gebhart and a 5 yard touchdown run from Dillon Wade to cap off the 34-0 victory for the Raiders.

JA will travel to Madison, MS and take on MRA next Friday night at Patriot Field at 7pm in their conference opener.
