JA Raider Football
Raiders Fall to Patriots In Madison
Jackson Academy traveled to Madison on Friday night for the 42nd meeting in the history of the series between MRA and JA. The Raiders led the series 26-15 entering the ballgame, but MRA has been dominating the series lately having won four of the last five in the series including a thirty-five point victory last year. After giving up a touchdown on the opening series of the game the Raiders settled down and only trailed 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
In the second quarter the Raiders fumbled the ball away to MRA at their own 25 yard line and the Patriots capitalized three plays later and led 14-0. JA would respond with a five play, 80 yard drive, capped off by a Andrew Holmes TD pass to Chase Rush from 63 yards away. That would be the closest JA would get the rest of the night as MRA scored touchdowns on five of their six remaining possessions to win 48-7 in the first conference game of the season for both teams.
JA will travel to Meridian, MS and take on Northeast Lauderdale next Friday night at Trojan Field at 7pm.
