The Lady Raider Volleyball Teams were in Flowood, MS tonight and took two of the three matches against Hartfield Academy. The Middle School were first up and faced a very difficult opponent as they had their 6-match win streak come to an end. The JV squad moved to a perfect 11-0 with a 2-0 win over the Lady Hawks. The Lady Raiders have only dropped 2 total sets in their eleven matches played this season. The final match of the night was the second rematch of the season of last year?s State Championship participants. The Varsity Lady Raiders were put to the test in the first set as a total of 62 points were played before JA came out on top. The Lady Hawks would sneak a set against JA but the Lady Raiders prevailed in the end 3-1 to move their mark to 24-3.
The win marked the 100th career win for Head Coach Melissa Denson in her four years as a Varsity Head Volleyball Coach (Clinton - 39-27, JA - 61-9) The next action for the JV squad is Saturday in Flowood as JA travels to Infinity Volleyball Academy to take part in an all-day tournament starting at 8am. On Monday the Middle School girls will host Covenant Christian School and on Tuesday the JV and Varsity squads will travel to Lewisburg to battle the Lady Patriots at 5pm and 6:30pm.

The Varsity Lady Raider Soccer Team won their fourth straight game and moved to 9-3 on the season as they defeated Lamar School 4-0 on the back of Alayla Jackson as she registered all four goals for JA. The next match for JA Soccer is Monday, September 16th as they return home for Senior Night and host Hartfield Academy. Varsity action is at 6:00pm and the eight seniors will be honored prior to the game.

The 7th Grade Football team secured their first win of the season as they got a 34 yard trick play to work with under a minute to play and then two plays later they punched in the game-winning touchdown to secure a 20-14 victory over the MRA Patriots. The JV squad was not as fortunate as they lost 24-7 and had their 10 game win streak snapped at the hands of MRA. Next Thursday JA will travel to Madden, MS to face Leake Academy. 7th Grade Game is at 5:30pm and the JV game is at 6:45pm.
The Lady Raider Softball team played host to Presbyterian Christian School and struggled in the first game losing 12-2. They played much better in Game 2 and nearly pulled off the upset dropping a 12-10 decision at Raider Park. Their remaining action is on the road as the next Doubleheader they will play is on Monday in McComb as they battle Parklane Academy at 5:00pm and 6:30pm.
