The Raiders renewed their annual rivalry with the Jackson Prep Patriots for the 52nd time in school history. It's the longest running rivalry the Raiders have on their schedule. The Patriots have owned the series as of late winning the last nine meetings.

The first drive for JA resulted in the game's only turnover for the Raiders, but it proved to be a costly one as Prep took it down the field and cashed in with a Matt Jones TD putting Prep up 7-0. In the second quarter the Raiders got on the board with a 34-yard Field Goal from Land Gebhart and then took the lead on a 76-yard run from Marcus Harris. Prep responded with a quick 4 play, 80-yard drive that featured two long passing plays by Riley Maddox to Mason Nichols (46 yards) and Luke Williams (24 yards). Matt Jones ran it in from 1 yard out for his second TD of the night to give Prep a 14-10 halftime lead.

The Patriots pushed their lead further in the third quarter with a 13 play, 80 yard drive that consumed 5:37 off the clock and gave Matt Jones his third TD of the game. JA responded with another big run from Marcus Harris as he rumbled in from 56 yards on a big 4th down conversion to bring JA back to within four. The next four drives resulted in punts for both sides before Prep broke through for the final score of the game as Riley Maddox found Reed Kellum from 16 yards out to put Prep up 28-17 for their tenth straight win in the series. JA will head stay at the Brickyard next Friday night as they host East Rankin Academy for Homecoming 2019 with the kickoff at 7pm and the presentation of the court at halftime.
