The Lady Raider Volleyball team dominated the two matches on the opening day of the MAIS Overall Volleyball Tournament at Mississippi College today. JA took down Macon Road Baptist School in quick straight set fashion in the Quarterfinals and did the same in the Semifinals against PCS. The Lady Raiders improved to 42-3 on the season and will advance to the Championship Game on Saturday morning at 10:30am as they face Hartfield Academy. JA also ran their winning streak to a season best 20 straight and remained perfect against MAIS competition. JA has only dropped one set all year to MAIS teams.

The Jackson Academy JV Football Teams traveled to Starkville, MS tonight and took on the Volunteers of Starkville Academy. The 7th Grade Team started off the night with their first shutout of the season, a 18-0 victory improving their Overall Record to 5-0-1. The 8th Grade Football team has not been able to play as many games but won their second straight contest with a 34-0 shutout victory moving their record to 2-1. The JV Football Team finished off the night?s trifecta of wins with a 30-6 victory, as the Raiders improved to 6-1 on the season. The final game will be on the road next week for JA as they travel to take on Jackson Prep in Flowood. 7th Grade action will start at 5:00pm, 8th Grade action will follow at 6:00pm and JV action will conclude the night at 7:00pm.
