The MAIS Cross Country State Meet was held at Choctaw Trails in Jackson on Monday and the Jackson Academy Cross Country Teams performed very well for having such young teams. The JV Boys finished in 3rd Place with 7th Grader John Travelstead finishing 11th as the fastest Raider with a time of 12:54.11, less than a minute behind the top finisher. 6th Grader Blake Bartlam (16th - 13:00.93) and 7th Grader Nichols Katsaboulas (17th - 13:04.27) also finished in the Top 20.

The Varsity Boys also finished 3rd Overall in the State with Junior Emery Thigpen (4th - 17:49.17) and Sophomore Clayton Mahaffey (8th - 18.02.66) finishing in the Top 10. Sophomore Reed Travelstead (18th - 19:30.34) and Junior Rett Stanely (19th - 20:07.74) finished in the Top 20. The Varsity Girls finished in 4th place as two young runners finished in the Top 20, 6th Grader Caroline Wier (19th - 23:35.53) and 7th Grader Ella Logan (20th - 23.39.61).
