Raiders Fall 28-14 in Season Finale


The Raiders entered the post season on a a four-game winning streak and coming off a bye week faced their cross-town rivals in Jackson Prep for the fifty-third time overall and the nineteenth time in the postseason. JA was attempting to snap a 10-game losing skid to the Patriots but came up short in a 28-14 decision that went the way of the Patriots.

The game featured two eventual 1,500 yard rushers in Marcus Harris (JA) and Matt Jones (JP). The two went back and forth but Jones was the only player between the two who found the end zone as he scored both second quarter touchdowns to give Prep a 14-0 halftime advantage.

The Patriots tacked on two more Matt Jones touchdowns in the third quarter as he finished with all four TDs in the game for Prep. He now has 30 on the season. The Raiders avoided the shutout with a William Janous TD reception from Andrew Holmes on fourth down. Tae Stewart scored on a 68 yard TD run with just 2:40 remaining in the game. After a Russell Hawkins35 yard reception to the Patriots 38, the Raiders stalled out and ran out of time as they lost 28-14 to Prep.
