JV & Varsity Stopped by Pillow
The Lady Raiders Basketball Team continued their year-ending 8 game road trip with a stop in Greenwood as they took on Pillow Academy. The JV Lady Raiders had an early 8-2 lead in the first quarter before the Lady Mustangs began to rally and closed the halftime score to 19-18 still in favor of JA. The Lady Mustangs started the second half on a 20-10 run before the Lady Raiders chipped away at the deficit before falling 42-41 and having their record drop to 8-2 on the season. Next up the JV Lady Raiders will be the Christmas Break and then they will resume play on January 7th at 4:00pm as they take on Jackson Prep in Flowood.
The Varsity Lady Raiders held an eleven point lead at halftime 27-16, and moved that to an eighteen point lead 41-23, before the Lady Mustangs closed the game on a 28-6 run to steal a victory from the Lady Raiders 50-47. The loss drops JA 11-2 on the year. Next up the Lady Raiders will continue their eight-game road trip as they travel to Harding Academy in Memphis, TN for the three-day More Than tournament. Their first game will be on Thursday at 3:00pm as they take on MHEA.
