The Varsity Lady Raiders finished up play in the annual Harding Academy More Than Christmas Basketball Tournament in Memphis, TN as they battled Briarcrest Christian School in the 3rd/4th Place Game on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Raiders battled close with the Lady Saints trailing by just six at halftime before Briarcrest pushed the lead to nine with 5:49 remaining in the third quarter. Then JA went on an impressive 12-4 run to close the gap to just one point early in the fourth quarter 34-33. That is the closest the Lady Raiders would get as Briarcrest answered that run with a 15-6 run to close out the game and win it by a final of 49-39 and claim 3rd Place in the More Than Tournament with a 2-1 record. JA finished in 4th Place with a 1-2 mark and had their overall record drop to 13-4 on the season. The Lady Raiders will continue their Christmas Break action in Laurel next weekend as they take part in the Alfa West Jones Christmas Classic by taking on NE Jones on Friday at 2:45pm and Puckett on Saturday at 1:00pm.
