The JV Lady Raiders finally got back to basketball action on the court as they traveled to Flowood to open Conference Play against their cross-town rivals, the Jackson Prep Lady Patriots. The Lady Raiders raced out to a 15-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. Then the comeback began as the Lady Patriots trimmed the lead to 23-14 at halftime.

The second half saw Prep pull even closer as they trimmed the lead to just one, 30-29. Then the Lady Raiders seized back control of the game and pulled away with a 42-33 victory securing the first conference win of the season. JA improved to 9-2 overall and more importantly 1-0 in conference play. The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Copiah Academy at 4:00pm.
