JV Boys Hold Off Pats
JA Wins First Conference Game
The JV Raiders faced a stiff task in their conference opener in Flowood on Tuesday as they battled their cross-town rival, the Jackson Prep Patriots. The score resembled more of a football score at the end of the first quarter as JA led 7-3. The second quarter wasn?t much different as they combined for 9 total points and JA stretched their lead to 13-6.
The defensive struggle continued in the second half as Prep outscored JA 6-5 to chip away at the lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Patriots threatened multiple times but JA never let go of the lead as they won 29-24 to improve to 9-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The Raiders will continue their busy week with a trip to Copiah Academy on Thursday and Heritage Academy on Saturday.
