JA Runs Away from Lady Bobcats


The Lady Raiders got a busy week started with a stop at The Raider Dome as they hosted Presbyterian Christian School in conference play. The JV Lady Raiders and Lady Bobcats started off with a closely contested game as it was tied after the first quarter 8-8. The Lady Raiders then went on a run that would put the ballgame away as they outscored the Lady Bobcats 21-0 over the next 9 minutes, which included a scoreless second quarter. Emily Buchanan and Ava Ladner each scored 11 points in a 39-16 victory as they improved to 11-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They will play again on Friday, January 17th as they travel to face Parklane at 4:00pm

The Varsity Lady Raiders had a similar happening in their contest as they trailed 9-4 late in the first quarter before they went on a 23-0 run over 11 minutes, including a scoreless second quarter. The Lady Raiders did not have a single player in double figures as nine different Lady Raiders got in the scorebook led by Natalie Thompson led the way with 9, while Yasmin Chambers and Reeves Stratton each scored 7 helping JA improve to 18-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Lady Raiders head to McComb on Friday to continue conference play as they battle Parklane Academy at 6:30pm
