JV Keeps Winning, Varsity Loses First
The JA Soccer Teams hosted their cross town rival, Jackson Prep, on Tuesday night at The Brickyard. The JV Raiders had an amazing outing as they beat the Patriots 4-0 and logged their fifth shutout of the season and improved to 7?0
The Varsity Raiders played a scoreless first half of soccer before the Patriots got on the board with goals in the 53rd and 55th minute. The Raiders managed to draw to within one as Reed Travelstead scored on a header from a corner kick by William Janous. The equalizing goal never came for the Raiders as they fell 2-1 for their first loss of the season and first conference loss as well as their record dropped to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play. JA will continue their short two-game homestead with a match against Hartfield Academy on Thursday.
