Rivalry Week Wins for JA
Lady Raiders Win Both Against Prep
Coming off a difficult loss on Tuesday both the JV and Varsity Lady Raiders hosted Jackson Prep to wrap up Rivalry Week for JA at The Raider Dome. From the opening tip the JV Lady Raiders took control and never let go. JA outscored Prep 12-4 in the first quarter and led 23-8 at halftime. Emily Buchanan scored 15 of the 23 first half points for JA. The Lady Patriots attempted a run as they outscored JA 7-1 to end the third quarter. The Lady Raiders finished the game on a 11-3 run to win 43-22 sweeping the regular season series against Prep and improving their overall mark to 14-3 and 5-1 in conference play.
In Varsity action just like most of the games recently, it featured quite a few runs. It started with a JA 4-0 run that was answered by a Prep 7-0 run which was followed by a Prep 9-0 run to close the quarter as Prep led 16-11. The Lady Raiders were able to close the first half on a 9-5 run to narrow the gap to one as they trailed 21-20. JA started the second half on a 7-2 run to claim a 27-23 lead. Natalie Thompson scored nine straight JA points to start the fourth quarter to help secure a fifteenth straight victory over Jackson Prep. The Lady Raiders improved to 21-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play. JA will host Prep on Friday to close out the week.

Natalie Thompson - the junior scored a game high 11 points off the bench (4-8 FG, 1-3 3PT, 2-3 FT), grabbed 2 rebounds, and had 1 block in 18 minutes of play.
