JA Ends Season State Runner Up

The Raiders were able to host the MAIS Division 1 Soccer State Championship at The Brickyard to close out the season. Their opponent was their cross-town rival, Jackson Prep, as they met for the third time this season. The two teams split the regular season meetings with each team winning on the opposite field.

Both teams had some good chances in the first half but the two goalies pitched a first half shutout. Neither team was able to break through in regulation time as the first 80 minutes ended in a scoreless 0-0 tie. In the first overtime session the Raiders appeared to break through with the first goal but it was waved off due to an offisdes call. The Patriots broke through first in the 104th minute of play and tallied one more four minutes later to seal the game in a 2-0 victory. JA finished the season at 16-2 on the season and 10-2 at The Brickyard.
