Overall Quarterfinals

Season Ends For Lady Raiders

On Monday JA was able to avoid a slow start against their opponent in Centreville Academy but that was not the case in their Quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday against Pillow Academy. The Lady Mustangs kept the Lady Raiders at a distance leading by thirteen at halftime. But the second half saw one of the more incredible comebacks this season for JA as they went on a 9-0 run late in the third quarter to cut the lead to 33-29 heading into the final frame. Nae Tae Ellis grabbed one of her four rebounds and put it back in for the first JA lead since the first quarter. Down the stretch the Lady Mustangs answered every call to the free throw line as the last eight points that they scored all came from he line. Reeves Stratton hit a huge three with 0:23 seconds left to make it a one point game and JA forced a turnover with eleven seconds left before Yasmin Chambers got a good look at the basket as time expired but the shot would not fall as Pillow pulled out the win 45-44 ending the Lady Raider season at 28-9.

University Heart Player with The Most Heart
Reeves Stratton - team high 15 points (4-12 FG, 2-3 3PT, 5-6 FT) and 2 steals and 1 rebound.
