The Lady Raider Volleyball Teams split up their Middle School (Monday) and JV/Varsity (Tuesday) matches with Hartfield Academy this week. The Middle School B-Team and A-Team both won their matches on Monday. The JV squad was able to make quick work of the Lady Hawks with a 2-0 victory moving their record to 12-1 on the season as they swept the season series after a three set battle in Flowood. The Varsity Lady Raiders were looking to avenge their lone conference loss to the same Lady Hawks after falling in 5 sets in Flowood earlier this season. JA did manage to beat Hartfield in the Southern Classic Tournament, which was a 2-1 (best of three sets) victory. The two teams went point for point and Hartfield had set point before JA fought it off and forced extra volleyball action. The Lady Raiders wound up pulling off a 29-27 first set victory. The Lady Hawks came right back and won the second set by winning the last four points in a row to even up the match. Then the last two sets wound up being as exciting as the first set as the Lady Raiders took the match 3-1 and avenged their lone conference loss. The B-Team season came to an end as the next action for the A-Team is the MAIS Middle School Tournament on Saturday at The Raider Dome. JV and Varsity will host Hartfield on Tuesday at 5:00pm and 6:00pm

Set Scores from each match:
JV - (25-14, 25-8)
Varsity - (29-27, 19-25, 26-24, 25-17)

The JA Lady Raider Soccer Teams were split up Tuesday night as the JV squad was in Pelahatchie taking on East Rankin Academy. JA lost their second straight in 4-0 fashion and fell to 4-5-1 with one game left to play. The Varsity Lady Raiders were in McComb for their final conference match of the season and they came up with their second shutout of the season with an 8-0 victory over the Parklane Academy Lady Pioneers. JA improved to 4-4 in conference play and will enter the postseason as the #3 seed which earns them a trip to the semifinals against #2 seed MRA in Madison at 6pm. The Lady Raiders have one final tune-up before that match as they travel to Meridian on Thursday to take on Lamar School. JV is at 5pm and Varsity will follow around 6:30pm.
