Brings Home Ribbons from Regionals
The Jackson Academy Interscholastic Equestrian Team competed at Regionals against teams from across Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee, February 5 and 6. Regional qualifiers must earn 18 individual points to qualify for Zones. Both Upper and Middle School teams qualified for the Regional Team competition, however, neither accrued enough points to move on to Zone Finals. All Regional competitors received a Regional Finals Qualifier Medal.
Lily Rhoden won first place in both Team Varsity Over Fences and Flat classes as well as Individual Flat qualifying her for Zone Finals at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, Tryon, North Carolina, March 20. Ellen Morgan won first place in Team Future Novice Equitation Over Fences, second place in Individual Flat Equitation, and fourth in Individual Fences Equitation. Regan Felder incoming JA IEA Team Captain for the 2021-2022 show season, won third place individually in Varsity Intermediate Equitation Over Fences and fifth place in Varsity Intermediate Team competition Over Fences. Chloe Palato won third place in Future Novice Equitation Over Fences in her first Regional qualifying show and also placed sixth in Future Intermediate on the Flat - individual. Grace Owens won fourth place in Individual Varsity Intermediate Equitation Over Fences and sixth in Varsity Intermediate Equitation on the Flat. Caroline Johnston won sixth place in her first regional competition in Futures Intermediate Equitation over fences out of 13 qualifying riders.
