The JV & Varsity Soccer Teams traveled to Flowood on Thursday night in search of their sixth straight victory as they battled against Jackson Prep. The JV Lady Raiders suffered their second loss of the season as they lost 4-0 to the Lady Patriots. The Varsity Lady Raiders got the scoring started early as Addison Comer overcame a few Prep defenders as she scored her 9th goal of the season to give JA an early 1-0 lead that they held going into halftime thanks to a fantastic save by Addi Roberts on a Prep Penalty Kick. In the second half, Dede Miller gave JA a two goal advantage with her 3rd goal of the season. Prep responded late to cut the lead in half before Harkins Simpson closed the scoring with second goal of the year. JA runs their win streak to six and also moves to 4-0 in conference play. Next Tuesday the Lady Raiders will stay in conference play as they travel to take on Parklane in McComb on September 7th at 5:00pm.

The JV Football Teams had their second games of the season in Starkville at J.E. Logan Field as the B-Team got it started off on the right foot with a 22-6 decision improving to 2-0. The JV Raiders had a hot start as AJ Parker took the opening kickoff 80 yards for the first score and then on the first defensive play of the game Tripp Mosal grabbed a tipped ball and returned it 30 yards for another score. The Raiders dominated from start to finish with a 41-6 win to improve to 2-0 on the young season. They will return to The Brickyard next Thursday night to host Leake Academy. B-Team will kickoff at 5:30pm with the JV squad following at 6:45pm.
