Raider Comeback
JA Finds A Way To Beat PCS
JA was in Hattiesburg on Friday night for their final regular season road game of the year as they battled Presbyterian Christian School for the 17th time in the history of the series. The Raiders were looking for their sixth straight win in the series against the Bobcats.
For the second straight week the Raiders turned the ball over in the red zone and this time the Bobcats turned it into the first points of the game with an eleven play drive that covered 87 yards and was capped off by an Ian Randolph 2yd TD run. JA responded on the next drive with a 9 nine play drive and nearly 70 yard drive as Tate Collins scored from 5 yards out. PCS retook the lead with an 8 yard TD run from Damion McNair as the Bobcats lead 14-7 at halftime. In the second half the Bobcats kept the roll going with a 5 yard pass from Ian Randolph to Zion Booth. Randolph fired his second TD pass to Max McGee from 28 yards away to give the Bobcats a 26-7 advantage. The Raiders began the comeback with a 26 yard pass from Tate Collins to Dakota Jordan. JA was declined an onside kick recovery but held PCS to a punt and then JA scored on their next two offensive drives as Collins ran in from 36 yard and then he connected with Jordan again for a 37 yard game-tying TD. Trey Adams scooped up a fumble and ran it in from 65 yards out to secure the win for JA. The Raiders improved to 6-3 and 2-2 in conference play. PCS dropped to 7-3 and 1-3 in 6A play.
Offensive Leaders: Tate Collins had 13 carries for 126 yards and 2 TDs. He was also 18-for-25 for 206 yards and two more TDs. Dakota Jordan had 7 receptions for 107 yards and 2 TDs
Defensive Leaders: Win Hooker once again led the Raiders with 16 tackles (5 solo), 1 tackle for loss and 1 PBU. Max Walenta, had 15 tackles (11 Solo), 4 TFL, 2 Sacks. Trey Adams registered 13 tackles (7 Solo). JT Thigpen collected 10 tackles (2 Solo) and a half sack.
JA is back at The Brickyard for their regular season finale as they host Parklane Academy for Homecoming 2021 with a 7pm kickoff. Pregame on The Raider Network will begin at 6:40pm
