Season Starts With Victory for Raiders
The Raiders began their season at Newton High School on Saturday with a matchup against Philadelphia High School. JA had a slow start to the game and eventually trailed 11-7 after the first quarter. Then they woke up to start the second and held a seven point lead before the Tornadoes trimmed the lead back to 25-23 at halftime. The Raiders began the second half by going on a 14-6 run in the first four minutes to stretch their lead to ten. They pushed it to 47-34 by the end of the third quarter. Philadelphia got it down to three around the two minute mark before JA sealed it at the free throw line as the Raiders won 59-54 to win the first game of the season.
