The Lady Raiders welcomed Vicksburg High School to The Raider Dome for their home opener to start the 2021-22 season and the Missy Gators were rude guests. In the first quarter the Lady Raiders rode the strength of Emily Buchanan and Gracelyn Carmichael to a lead of 11-10 until Vicksburg closed the quarter on an 8-2 run. Vicksburg extended their lead to 9 but Carmichael and Cha'Myrean Ellis helped chip it back to 5 at the half. The Lady Raiders came out strong after halftime and closed the gap to 1 on a Buchanan three but could never get over the hump as they lost 40-33 to Vicksburg and had their record even out at 1-1 on the young season.
