JA Beats Cathedral for 2nd Time


The Raiders hosted Cathedral School on Monday night as the originally scheduled game in Natchez was moved to Jackson after a conflict this past Saturday. The change of venue allowed the Raiders to enjoy home court advantage as they battled the Green Wave for a second time in two weeks after beating them in the Brookhaven Thanksgiving Classic. Cathedral got the first basket and then JA poured it on scoring 19 of the next 23 points as they enjoyed a twelve point lead at the end of the first quarter. Graham Stevens nearly had a double double in the first quarter with 8 points and 7 rebounds. JA pushed their lead to 23 at halftime and 31 by the end of the third quarter. Every Raider got in the game as JA won going away 83-47. Four different Raiders scored in double figures (Stevens, Kam Beverly, Josh Holman, and Caleb West as JA improved to 9-4 on the season. The JV Boys also won 65-13 and moved to 7-1.
