Raiders Lose Heartbreaker in Flowood


The Raiders started off the new year looking to improve upon their 14-6 record and begin with a win in conference play in Flowood. The game started with JA breaking a 6-6 tie with a 8-3 run to lead by five at the end of the first quarter on a Sam Gaylor three pointer. JA held Prep to just five points in the second quarter and used a Reid FelderJosh Holman scored with 1:39 left on the clock to give JA back a two point lead, the Pats drew up a play that freed up Haddon McLeod for a go-ahead three pointer for the first lead of the night for Prep. Kam Brent addded two late free throws and a potential game-tying three pointer by Felder front he top of the key came up short as Prep pulled off the comeback win. JA had two in double figures as Kam Beverly had 10 and Graham Stevens finished with 11 along with 15 rebounds, his second straight double-double and sixth overall. The JV Boys lost their conference opener 44-22 and had their record fall to 7-2 and 0-1 in conference play.
