Raiders 2-0 in Memphis

JA Beats St. George's & Briarcrest

The JA Raider Baseball Team traveled to Memphis on Friday to take part in the Flag City Tournament at Briarcrest Christian School. The Raiders faced St. George's Independent School in the first game of their two-game slate. Dakota Jordan, still recovering from an injury, showed he can still swing the bat as he belted the second pitch he saw over the left field fence for a 1-0 lead. JT Thigpen and Davis Lee both collected multi-hit games as the Raider offense exploded for 10 runs, but the real story was on the mound. Three JA pitchers combined for six innings of no-hit baseball as the Raiders beat the Gryphons 10-0. Joseph Ciaccio pitched the first two innings and allowed just a walk. Clayton White notched the victory with the next three innings of work as he retired eight of the ten batters that he faced. Dane Stevens completed the no-hit bid as he allowed three one out walks but induced an inning-ending double play turned by Cade Gadman, Garrett Smith and Davis Lee to end the threat. With a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth, Chandler Anderson led off the inning with a triple and then Davis Lee brought the winning run in with a single to center.
