Football Program Hires New Defensive Coordinator


Andrew Crenshaw Jr. finished his third season as an assistant football coach at Trinity Presbyterian School located in Montgomery, Alabama. In 2022, his first season as a defensive coordinator, led the defense with an average of 13.7 points/game, 9 takeaways, 20 hurries, 18 sacks, 23 passes defended 2 defensive scores and a total of 500 team defensive tackles for the year. In the 2021 & 2020 seasons, Coach Crenshaw was the Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach. While at Trinity he mentored and coached 3 All State Players which include 2 defensive backs Mac McClinton 21 (Auburn Football), Seawell McKeee 22, and Kicker/Punter Grayden Flowers in 20 & 21. Prior to Trinity Presbyterian, Andrew served as a speed and agility trainer at Parisi Speed School located in Montgomery, AL. During the 2019 season, Coach Crenshaw was under former head coach, Bill Clark, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Andrew served as the assistant to the special teams coordinator. Before arriving at UAB, Andrew had a brief stint under Caleb Ross at Prattville High School, mentoring eventual Alabama Football Signee Ian Jackson. Andrew started his coaching career in 2013 as a men's and women's basketball coach at Byne Christian School located in Albany, Georgia. The following year, 2014 he served under Rush Propst, as a defensive backs coach at Colquitt County High School located in Moultrie, Georgia. He helped the team post a 15-0 record, finishing #6 in the country as well as winning the Georgia 6A State Championship. The following 2 years Andrew was tutored under Jimbo Fisher and Charles Kelly as a secondary defensive analyst at Florida State University (2015-2016). In 2017-2018, Andrew coached at Faulkner University, leading and coaching the secondary which entails 3 different position groups (cornerback, safety, and nickel). Crenshaw has served and mentored multiple future college student-athletes ranging from NAIA to Division 1 ranks and a few future professionals in his 8 years of coaching. Andrew was born in Texas and after extensive travels grew up in Albany, Georgia, Crenshaw was a two-year letterman at Waldorf University and a two-year letterman at Iowa State University, all as a defensive back. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Iowa State University in 2010 and masters degree in education from Greenville University in 2021. Andrew and his wife Ashley have an 8 year old, Ava Aubrilyn Crenshaw, who enjoys basketball, gymnastics, softball, and theatre.
