Lady Raiders Overcome Early Deficit


The Lady Raiders closed out a four game home stand at The Brickyard on Monday night as they hosted St. Joseph in conference play. The JV Lady Raiders earned another clean sheet as they blanked the Lady Bruins 3-0. Savannah Peters led the Raiders attack with 1 goal and 1 assist. Ava Harwell and Brennan Davis scored a goal each and Rosie Adams and Audrey Chapman each had an assist. Isabel Russell and Vivi Antonaros spilt time in goal in the win.

In varsity action the Lady Raiders found themselves trailing early 1-0 after just twelve minutes of action. After second half conversations, JA jumped on St. Joseph early as Gracelyn Carmichael (2nd Goal) headed in a corner kick from Izzy Scott (5th assist) to tie the game. In the 55th minute, Carmichael (1st assist) returned the favor with a pass to Ella King (3rd Goal) that she finished off to give JA the lead. Seven minutes later, DeDe Miller (1st Goal) finished off the scoring on another pass from Scott (6th assist) to give JA a 3-1 victory. JA improves to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in conference play. Next up is a trip to Hartfield on Thursday.
