The weekend in JA Athletics concluded with a very successful run. The Lady Raider Volleyball kept their impressive start to the season going as they won The Southern Classic which was played at Infinity Volleyball Academy and Jackson Academy. The Lady Raiders finished off Pool Play with a 2-0 win over Hancock. Then in Bracket Play they defeated Lewisburg in the Quarterfinals, Vancleave in the Semifinals and Clinton High School in the Championship Match. With the tournament victory (6 matches) the Lady Raiders have advanced their record to 8-0 to start the season and have not dropped a set so far this season. Their next match is on Thursday at 6pm against Hartfield at The Raider Dome.

The Lady Raider Soccer Team was in Memphis taking part in the Annual Collierville Preseason Classic. The Lady Raiders defeated St. George?s School (TN) on Friday 4-0, and then lost to Collierville High School on Saturday morning 4-0. Their match on Sunday against St. Agnes was cancelled at halftime due to excessive heat. So the Lady Raiders finished the weekend at 1-1 and their season record stands at 2-1. They will start conference play on Thursday as they travel to face MRA in their only contest for the upcoming week.

The Middle School Volleyball team finished play in The Top Hits Classic at Millsaps College on Saturday. After losing in their first match 2-0 to Madison Middle School (2-0) on Friday night the Lady Raiders went on quite a Saturday run. JA defeated Hartfield, Hillcrest Christian, Brandon Middle School and Northwest Rankin before they lost to St. Joseph in the Quarterfinals to end their run. They played in 5 straight matches without a break and finished 4th Overall in the Tournament. Their next match is on Thursday at 4pm against Hartfield at The Raider Dome.
