Coach Blackwell is beginning his first season at Jackson Academy and his 8th season as a Head Football Coach. Aubrey's career coaching record is 57-26. That includes 3 region championships and 1 State-Runner Up. During his 6 year run at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School, the Knights were 54-19, overcoming a 15-44 record their previous 6 years before Aubrey took over. He's helped 36 players achieve scholarships to the next level. He was named to the Robert E. Lee Hall of Fame (2019), the University of Montevallo Hall of Fame (2019), UM Alumni of the Year (2016), The AHSAA 4A Coach of the Year (2017), the Montgomery QB Club Coach of the Year (2017), the CCC Coach of the Year (2017, 2019, 2020), and Coach the AHSAA's South All-Star Team in 2018. Before Montgomery Catholic, he spent two years as the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator at Saint James School for his mentor, Jimmy Perry. He helped the Trojans win their first region championship in school history. During his 3 years at Saint Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, AL, the Saints won the region championship every year, as well as a Semi-Final and Quarterfinal playoff appearance. Prior to coaching high school football, Aubrey coached NCAA Division 1 and Division 2 baseball at Campbell University and the University of Montevallo for 6 seasons as the program's pitching coach. Aubrey is a graduate of the University of Montevallo (BS and MS). He met his wife of 15 years, Brandi, at the University of Montevallo where she played basketball and volleyball. Their children are Will (Class of 2029) and Kayla (Class of 2030).
